Rob is a ‘self taught’ landscape photographer, and started developing his panoramic style in 2008. He has had work displayed in galleries and exhibitions, as well as shown in local and national newspapers.
While the use of digital photography gives him the freedom to pursue his chosen format, he prefers to capture his images ‘in-camera’ with the added use of specialist on-camera filters, and with only the bare minimum of post-production where necessary.
“If the conditions are not right for a planned image, I will return to a location as often as necessary to capture the correct light, sometimes a year or more later”
Living on the south coast gives Rob access to some of the most stunning landscapes that the UK has to offer.
Rob specialises in panoramic fine art images, carefully working with the position of the sun, the moon and tides to capture the extraordinary fleeting moments that we all see, but pass so quickly into ordinary light.
“The panoramic format allows me to capture a huge amount of detail in each picture, inviting the viewer to look further into the scene than a standard photograph allows, with the wider vista demanding that your eye scans across a scene reminiscent of the view that our eyes would see at the actual location.”
Rob's limited edition prints are supplied with mount and frame (as displayed in the Gallery), to his recommendations. This is to ensure that the pictures are shown to best effect.
